Yesterday, the news broke from Conan O’Brien that Bill Tull, longtime prop master who got his own hilarious segment in later years, has passed away.
“Bill Tull, our prop master extraordinaire for 28 years, died this morning,” Conan tweeted. “We always asked the impossible of Bill, sometimes minutes before showtime, and he always delivered. He was a warrior and a legend. Rest In Peace, Bill, and eternal thanks.”
From the time Conan O’Brien hit NBC in 1993 with Late Night with Conan O’Brien until the day he wrapped things up on TBS last year, Tull was there for the ride. Every time you saw an insane prop such as a rabid raccoon on a jet pack, a vomiting Kermit, an Oscar getting a prostate exam, or the world’s tallest dachshund, Bill Tull was responsible for its creation.
A staple of O’Brien’s TBS show was Tull’s Tips. In honor of Tull, we’ve compiled some of our favorites below.
