Bob Odenkirk is starring in a remake of “The Room”

March 9, 2023      Andrew Buss      Movies, News

The Room is one of the most famous “bad” films in the history of movies. The film has become a cult hit, so big that there’s even been a biopic about the making of the film, The Disaster Artist. The biopic starred James Franco as the film’s director and star, Tommy Wiseau. Now, there’s going to be a remake.

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Bob Odenkirk is starring in a full-length remake of the film to help commemorate its 20th anniversary. The remake was shot entirely on green screen, and done for charity. The film will benefit The Foundation for AIDS Research, with Acting For A Cause also involved.

“This is real,” Odenkirk tweeted. “This is true. And let me tell you, I tried my best to SELL every line, as honestly as I could…and I had a BLAST”

The film was directed by Brando Crawford. No news on when it’ll be released – or how – but it’ll likely be this spring.
