Ivan Reitman dead at 75

February 13, 2022      Andrew Buss      Features, In Memoriam, News

Breaking news: Ivan Reitman has passed away at the age of 75.

The comedy director – best known for working on films such as Ghostbusters, Twins, Meatballs, Stripes, Kindergarten Cop, and producing Animal House – died peacefully in his sleep Saturday night of undisclosed causes, according to his family.

“Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life,” his kids Jason Reitman, Catherine Reitman, and Caroline Reitman said in a statement. “We take comfort that his work as a filmmaker brought laughter and happiness to countless others around the world. While we mourn privately, we hope those who knew him through his films will remember him always.”
