Center Stage: Andrew Sleighter

September 13, 2010      Matt      Center Stage, Video

Andrew Sleighter started stand-up in Seattle because he was, “looking for an outlet for my vulgar arguments for decency.”

Sleighter got the comedy bug while doing a local Seattle sports cable access show, The Sport Report with a friend. The show allowed Sleighter to sit down and actually write out sketches and jokes and as you can say, he was hooked. He still has a passion for sports as he writes a blog, Locker Room Cancer but his focus is definitely on making people laugh.

His first gigs weren’t glamorous, as he toughed it out in open mic nights in college. Some nights were so bad that owners thought they should brought back a gong for these nights. A few years later he relocated to LA after a brief stop off in Boston where’s he’s currently trying to get as much stage time as possible so he can quit his day job working at Best Buy.
