Center Stage: Harvard Sailing Team

January 19, 2012      Matt      Center Stage

Harvard Sailing Team is a nationally-renowned “Ivy League” sketch comedy group that’s earned critical praise and been featured on national television. They also have a fanatic YouTube following. Things took off for the group with their their “Boys Will Be Girls” series of videos. They earned an MTV Comedy Award nominee for Best Original Viral and gathered nearly 7 million views to date.

The group also hosted the both the longest-running and highest-grossing weekly sketch show in NYC’s Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT). The show features their sharp style of clean-cut sketches combined with music & dance surprises. The weekly sketch show recently closed down so the team can take their show on the road, touring colleges and comedy venues nationally while they perform in their trademark argyle sweaters and Converse sneakers.

They’ve appeared on Comedy Central, VH1, and CBS. Been written up in Huffington Post, NY Mag’s Vulture, and Cosmopolitan. Were an official selection at the 2010 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal as well as an ECNY and INNY awards for Best Sketch Comedy Group; and what might be the pinnacle for anyone…been featured on Sesame Street.

The Harvard Sailing Team will once again return to The Pit this weekend for two sold out shows on 1/20 and 1/21. Some walk up tix might be available if you get moving fast.
