Charges have been dropped against T.J. Miller’s 2018 fake bomb threat call
July 30, 2021 Andrew Buss News, T.J. Miller
Back in 2018, we reported on a bizarre story that T.J. Miller was arrested after calling in a fake bomb threat in Connecticut. He reportedly called 911 to tell them that a female passenger had a bomb in her bag. He was later released on a $100,000 bond. And now, three years later, the charges against Miller will officially by dropped by federal prosecutors at a hearing this afternoon.
Prosecutors said in their filing – which you can read here – that “expert medical analyses and reports regarding the defendant’s prior brain surgery and its continued neurological impacts, which cast doubt upon the requisite legal element of “intent” to commit the charged offense.” After having a hemorrhage and multiple seizures, Miller did undergo brain surgery back in 2010, which removed a piece of his frontal lobe.
In the filing, Miller reportedly agreed to “make full financial restitution for the costs of the law enforcement response to the false 911 call, and to continue a thorough and necessary program of Cognitive Remediation to render any recurrence of such conduct most highly unlikely.”
Miller has yet to comment on the new developments.
