It wouldn’t be the Just For Laughs Festival without this guy there. And even though we can’t be in person this year, doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a lot to say.
Every year, Andy Kindler takes the stage for his career-defining State of the Industry address. Basically, this is Kindler talking about (and roasting) all the events that happened in the industry within the last year. And naturally, with this year being his 25th annual address, he has a lot to say about these times we’re in. As Vulture first reported, some of what he touches upon in his 30 minute event is what he’s been doing during the pandemic, Chris D’Elia, Joe Rogan, “canceled comics”, offending people, Bill Maher, Jimmy Kimmel, and so much more.
It’s nice to know that, in a time when we don’t know when the next big movie will be coming out, we at least still have Andy Kindler’s State of the Industry.
