Jon Stewart re-opened live audiences on “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and gave his Coronavirus theories

Conan O’Brien wasn’t the only late night host who returned to the live studio audience format last night. Stephen Colbert also welcomed guests back to the Ed Sullivan Theater for the first time in 460 last night. And as you can hear, the crowd was happy to be back!
With the exception of high profile interviews with Joe Biden and Barack Obama, Colbert hadn’t conducted an in-person interview since March of 2020. His first guest back was, fittingly, Jon Stewart, who gave Colbert his big break on The Daily Show, before he went onto The Colbert Report. It was a happy reunion for both the audience as well as the two men. And as you can imagine, Stewart had a lot to say about the world we’re living in now!
Particularly addressing the theory that Coronavirus originated in a lab in Wuhan, China. A theory that months ago was deemed conspiratorial, “fringe” and “debunked” by most media outlets (aka Trump said it so it can’t possibly be true). But as more evidence is revealed it is becoming a more mainstream idea that politicians and credible outlets are beginning to at least explore the notion of.
