There’s a new wave of rock and roll comedy and it’s being brought to you via Joe Sib, also the co-founder of SideOneDummy Records. The new comedy show called California Calling: A Story of Growing Up Punk Rock takes Sib’s comedy and will feature some fun animated videos to go along with the set. Joe is set to perform the show at UCB Theatre LA on January 30th for only 5 bucks! It’s hard to argue with that.
Sib’s act will appeal to any fans of punk and hardcore in the ’80s and ’90s that are now grown up, at least in terms of age. In this clip, he talks about slam dancing for hours and the inspiration that led him to start a band (Remember Wax? Anyone? How about the Spike Jonze-directed video for “California?” Thought so!) Anyhow, to get a taste of it, watch this video and then go buy your tickets, especially if you want to see more animation alongside the already-animated personality of Sib.
Did I mention the flyer is dope?
