Chelsea Handler is certainly not one to hold back speaking her mind, and this interview proved it. The comedian and late night host appeared on Piers Morgan Live and was not fond of host Morgan Piers playing with his cell phone during the commercial break. Piers’ lack of interest caused Chelsea to give us all a taste of what “The Roast of Piers Morgan” would be like.
The first sign that the interview was taking a bad turn came when Piers asked Handler what she normally does when shes on the road, to which Handler instantly retorted, “Well I have to come here and tolerate this nonsense.” Piers seemed to shake it off and tried to move on to a new topic, Twitter. “You tweet very amusingly,” Peirs quipped prompting Handler to respond with another dig, “I wish you did. I mean in the middle of the commercial break, I want your viewers to know, I mean, they must know because they’re following you on twitter. I mean you cant even pay attention for 60 seconds.” If that wasn’t enough she went on to drop the ultimate slam, “You’re a terrible interviewer.”
Piers, a little shell shocked and certainly not as quick as Handler, responded by saying, “Well you just weren’t keeping my attention. It’s not an issue for me.” Big mistake. Of course, if there is one thing everyone should know about Handler by now it’s she isn’t the type to let someone else have the last word. “Well that’s not my problem. This is your show. You have to pay attention to the guests you invited on your show,” Handler fired back.
The two continue to bicker until Handler drops the final bomb by saying, “well maybe that’s why your show is coming to an end.” Of course referring to Piers show being cancelled and set to be finished within the month. Immediately after the comedian slammed the door shut on Piers, he begins laughing hysterically and very nervously. It was clear that Piers had run out of ammo and was at a loss of words. Finally, Piers managed to push out one final word, “wow.” Handler simply nodded her head in a victorious manner with a mocking “wow” right back.
It’s moments like these that make me wish Celebrity Death Match was still a show.
