Last night Colin Quinn swung by The Daily Show to plug his new book about race relations. Quinn and Stewart were their usual jovial selves and the topic of Quinn’s one man show surfaced. Quinn revealed news that he intended to return to the stage this summer with a new show, Colin Quinn The New York Story, which will be directed by Jerry Seinfeld. This is the second time Quinn and Seinfeld have teamed up, with Seinfeld previously directing is other show, Long Story Short in 2011. The Off Broadway performance is set to kick off at Cherry Lane Theatre with previews on July 9th, open on July 23rd and run through Aug 16th.
The New York Story is described as so: “Colin bemoans the rise and fall of his hometown, the city formally known as NY from its modest beginnings as Dutch outpost to the hipsters of modern Williamsburg to the vermin below and above ground. Quinn is once again at his satirical best, taking aim at the prejudices, paranoias and peculiarities that make New York City the crossroads of the world.”
