Comedian, actor (The Goldbergs, Schooled), and podcaster (The Fighter And The Kid) Bryan Callen is facing a round of accusations of sexual assault and misconduct. This morning the LA Times went on record with four total women accusing the comedian of a barrage of actions ranging from “verbally and physically aggressive” to rape. All happening over the course of the last 20 years.
Three women in the story individually recount Callen’s creepy behavior – aggressively kissing a store clerk in a dressing room, an emerging comedian being offered money and stage time for a blowjob, and a longtime sexual affair with a barista while he was married man. The most serious of the accusations comes from Katherine Fiore Tigerman who described in detail a friendship with Callen starting in 1994 and one night in 1999 after the two had dinner, felt she had been drugged and raped by Callen.
Callen commented on the accusations in the story stating “Let me be very clear: I have never raped, forced myself upon any woman nor offered to trade stage time for sex. EVER,” adding, “I know the truth. And I can only hold my head up high, remain true to myself, my family, my audience and know that I will not allow the cancel culture to subvert what I know and as importantly, what they know, is the truth.”
The story also heads into the territory of the recent Chris D’Elia allegations since Callen and D’Elia were such good friends. It appears when those accusations came to light, Tigerman felt like she could finally go public with her story as well.
Someone please check on Brendan Schaub, because after his reaction to D’Elia’s accusations, the video of his podcasting partner is going to be nuts!
UPDATE: Callen released a video statement a few days after this news broke. Once again he strongly denounced the allegations against him.
