Dan Telfer has a very treatable form of cancer. He doesn’t want you to make a big deal about it or anything but he is going to incur some pretty steep medical debt fighting it. As you can imagine, working on getting healthy is difficult enough without the added stress to Dan (and his wife and daughters) of worrying about the cost of it all. You can donate by heading here.
Here’s a note from Dan:
Thank you very much for coming to this page. This is my second time fighting cancer, and the first time my family was able to make ends meet without my having to disclose my situation to everyone I knew. My wife and children mostly forgave me for being needy for a little while.
This time is much more intense. I will be going through chemotherapy for several months, being subjected to a lot more surveillance, and the bills that will not be covered by insurance are rather massive. I am very grateful to my brother for setting this up for me, and do not take the gesture of donations lightly. This is a really difficult time for me, and I need the assistance of family and friends to make it to the other side.
And though I am staying positive, it’s not me I am worried about. I appreciate whatever you can spare to make this journey easier for my wife and two daughters. Any security I can bring them will make the rest of this easier. Again thank you so much for considering donating, I will never forget the generosity I have already received.
As these things go, we would be very grateful if you could pitch in some cash for this. Not only will you be helping out a swell guy and thoughtful comedian, but you’ll be giving him something distracting to do by watching the donation meter go up.
We may post updates in the days ahead. Feel free to share this with your own social networks and spread the love! Thanks for taking this moment for Dan and making this whole heaviness a little lighter.
