7 Comedians discuss their favorite horror films

October 31, 2013      The Laugh Button Staff      Features, Lists

It’s Halloween! And we’re ‘fraidy cats up here at The Laugh Button Towers. Mainly because we saw a scary movie once as a kid and it made us pee our pants and go running to our mom (don’t knock us, we’ve all been in a pants peeing situation or two in our lifetimes). It’s because of this we’ve never been caught at a Saturday night double feature gore fest. But yeah, you will not find us at a Saturday afternoon bloodfest feature.

But that doesn’t mean comedians aren’t. In fact they love movies, and horror films so we asked a few to tell us to recall their favorite horror flick. Take their suggestions and then make yourself your own Saturday afternoon bloodfest viewing party.

Poltergeist (1982)
No movie will ever scare me more than Poltergeist. I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, and, it might be corny, stupid, and downright un-scary, but, there is a scene in it where a boy’s clown doll becomes possessed and tries to kill him. Unfortunately, when I saw this movie, I had the exact same model of clown doll, and I threw it away only to have my mom find it in the trash and than place it back in my room later that night after I fell asleep. Walking up in the middle of the night to find my clown magically back and staring at me is the most scared I have ever felt in my life. Cue reoccurring nightmares and years of bedwetting. Apparently, my mom still has that doll somewhere. Happy Halloween. – Dan Cummins
