Send your condolences to Sarah Silverman because Comedy Central has announced that it is officially canceling The Sarah Silverman Program. Frankly this isn’t a shock considering the issues Silverman’s had with Comedy Central over budget issues in the past. Silverman even threatened to walk out until a resolution was reached where the Logo Network, a gay themed network stepped in to pick up production costs. To make matters worse for the struggling show, Comedy Central moved the show to the midnight time slot in the middle of Season 3, a deathblow for any show.
I don’t feel particularly bad for Silverman who is currently promoting her newest book Bedwetter” and is getting ready to co-star with Sarah Polley in Take this Waltz, so her paychecks should be coming in fine. Rather I feel for the immensely talented and often under-appreciated supporting cast.
