Pilot season is in full swing and here’s some news in the realm of orders, specifically NBC. The peacock is triple dipping by ordering three comedy pilots, all hailing from NBC’s Universal TV production studio. Hot In Cleveland creator Suzanne Martin is behind an untitled multi-camera project about a married couple struggling with empty-nest syndrome until their adult daughters move back home. She will executive produce with the Hazy Mills team of Todd Milliner and Sean Hayes, who worked with her on TV Land’s Hot In Cleveland. Up next, Superstore from scribe Justin Spitzer (The Office, Mulaney) revolves around a group of friends who work at a big box store. Spitzer penned the pilot and exec produces with Ruben Fleischer (Gangster Squad) and David Bernard. Fleischer will be directing. Superstore will be a single camera pilot. Lastly, How We Live is a single-cam vehicle about an anthropologist blogger who moves to the suburbs. Steven Cragg (SNL, MadTV) and Brian Bradley have written the script and exec produce with David Janollari (Six Feet Under). This is just the tip of the iceberg. Information on ore pilots from more networks to come as information rolls in.
