We’ve all heard about by now how sports have started using cardboard cutouts of random celebrity figures and fans to put into the stands of sporting events, just so you’re not looking at an empty crowd all the time. It’s something silly and fun and amusing to see whose likeness you can recognize during the game. And as talk show hosts have started to move their shows back to (empty) theaters and studios again, Conan O’Brien figures that he can use the same strategy.
Currently, O’Brien has cutouts of whatever he could find in storage. So his current audience includes Ruth Bader Ginsburg, James Comey, Conrad Bain from Diff’rent Strokes, and four Kevin Hart‘s. But, O’Brien decided he wanted to also give fans a chance to occupy his audience. So this week, he started accepting photo submissions from fans to be put into his audience. So if you’ve ever wanted to be in the audience of a late night show but have no plans on going to California or New York, this is the contest for you.
You can submit your photos on the show’s website here.
