Conan O’Brien’s Team Coco purchased by SiriusXM for a reported $150 Million

May 23, 2022      Andrew Buss      Conan O'Brien, News

Even before he left the late night world after 28 years in June of 2021, Conan O’Brien already had the next stage of his career mapped out.

Since launching the podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend in 2018, O’Brien has turned something he did on the side into something much bigger. In just 4 years, he’s built up a pretty good sized podcast network that also features offerings from Rob Lowe, Andy Richter, Nicole Byer, JB Smoove, Rory Scovel, and more.

Well, that network is about to get even bigger as today, SiriusXM announced they’ve purchased the Team Coco network for a reported $150 million dollars. O’Brien has an all new podcast studio to go along with it. Plus, Sirius will distribute video from O’Brien’s podcast and his TBS late night show, as well as merchandise.

“When I started in television, my ultimate goal was to work my way up to radio,” O’Brien said in a statement. “This new deal with SiriusXM builds on the great relationship that began several years ago with a team that is the standout in their field.”

“We are thrilled that Conan remains committed to producing his incredibly successful podcast and will now expand his role into executive producing an exclusive Team Coco radio channel for SiriusXM,” added Scott Greenstein, president and chief content officer of SiriusXM. “Conan has built an amazing brand and organization at Team Coco with a proven track record of finding and launching compelling and addictive podcasts. We look forward to continuing to grow the Team Coco brand.”
