Artie Lange’s second book, Crash and Burn, is out today. Well known for his work on MADtv and his 8 year stint on The Howard Stern Show, Lange’s new book is stunningly raw. In 2008, the comedian’s first book, Too Fat to Fish, debuted at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list. Since then, his life has certainly taken enough of a turn to warrant a second book. He divulges the details of his life-long struggle with heroin and prescription drugs, as well as his attempted suicide in 2010.
Despite Lange’s brutal honesty about the darkest parts of his past, Crash and Burn also chronicles more recent and positive parts of his life, including his return to comedy and recent engagement to his longtime girlfriend Adrienne. The book was co-written by Anthony Bozza, who also co-wrote Fish.
