You have to love the effort some comedians use to promote their debut album. Kurt Braunohler actually ran a kickstarter campaign to get a pilot write the words “How Do I Land” (that’s the name of the album, if you couldn’t put 2 and 2 together) in the Los Angeles sky, resulting in a bunch of viral media attention.
If you aren’t familiar with Kurt, he was featured on Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” list as well as Time Out New York’s 50 funniest New Yorkers and “Best Male Stand-up” by ECNY, so this is definitely a noteworthy release for him and his new home of indie rock label, Kill Rock Stars.
If there is one thing we are disappointed about based on the album cover, it is that Kurt is not sporting the fantastic beard he had at points over the summer, more specifically in this Vine. Oh yeah, we forgot to mention his Vine profile is one of the funniest ones out there so if you are on the up and coming social network, make sure to give him a follow.
While you’re at it, why not support him a little bit more by ordering his debut album, How Do I Land? on Amazon for only ten bucks. Think about it, that’s only 6,810 less dollars than it took for Kurt to get someone to write the name of his album in the sky. If you can find something better than that this week, kudos to you, but we will definitely be supporting Kurt’s album.
