This year marks the 25th Anniversary of The Discovery Channel. A network that Late Night comic Craig Ferguson has professed his love for many times over the years. He’s often making jokes about the show Mythbusters and even launched a Twitter campaign to help out Mythbuster Grant Imahara to get followers. In return Imahara built Ferguson a robot skeleton (an affectionate name he has for his Twitter followers) sidekick for his late show.
Now Ferguson will now have an even closer relationship to the cable channel, for he’s been tapped to host the 23rd year of Shark Week. A week of special programming on the channel dedicated to sharks. This year the programming kicks off on August 1st. Ferguson will travel to the Bahamas to host the week.
Here’s a clip of Ferguson sharing the news during the cold opening of last night’s show.
Craig, we’d like to offer you a bit of advice we got from the sagely man Tracey Morgan…”You must live every week like its Shark Week.”
