After Schitt’s Creek surprised everyone by making history and walking off with an award in every Emmy category they possibly could, obviously the question is going to be “What next?”. Most shows would have a lot of steam and momentum going into the next season. In this case, with a show that had already wrapped up prior to the Emmy sweep, what was going to come next?
There had been talk about maybe another season or perhaps a movie to sort of ride this wave. However, in an interview with E! News today, Levy shot down that talk… for now.
“I would love for there to be. I’m not ruling it out,” Levy said. “It’s very flattering that people want to know, but I would just say generally I think you need to let the good things settle for a minute. Let people finish the show. Let people sort of take a breath.”
He did make sure to mention that the ending was deliberate on the part of the creative team to do so “when things were going really well.” He then added in “I’m very sort of sensitive to overstaying your welcome in any capacity. So we’ll see in a few years, if it all sort of comes together.”
So there you have it. For now, we’ll have to stick to what we’ve got. But hopefully we’ll be seeing the family together again sometime down the road!
