David Cross joins “Running Wilde,” getting us closer to an “Arrested Development” reunion

Oh man, it’s looking like we’re going to get a little bit more of an Arrested Development reunion of sorts this fall on FOX.
The channel’s new show Running Wilde which is the new comedy series by AD creator Mitch Hurwitz and writer Jim Valley. The show features Gob himself Will Arnett as the main protagonist as he tries to win the woman of his dreams played by Felicity herself Keri Russell.
Also, just recently announce was that another AD Alum, David Cross will be joining the cast of Running Wilde. Cross will appear in 7 of 13 episodes and portray a radical environmentalist and be replacing actor Andrew Daly that played the part during the show’s pilot.
Time to break out the blue body paint and cutoff jeans and hope this show ends up better than the last time some of the AD cast reunited on the incredibly short lived animated sitcom Sit Down, Shut Up.
UPDATE: It turns out this story is deeper than just a re-cast, Deadline.com reports that Cross was originally cast to play the role, but the Icelandic volcano explosion prevented him from filming the pilot which Daly, who was already cast in the new Paul Reiser sitcom stood in for.
