David Spade returns to late night filling in for Jimmy Kimmel

August 25, 2020      Andrew Buss      David Spade

At the start of the pandemic in March, David Spade’s late night show seemed to be one of the first to meet the ax when Comedy Central decided to cancel Lights Out with David Spade. The virtual monologues he had been doing from home began to disappear, and just like that, the show was over. Spade then turned to doing virtual monologues on his Instagram.

Now, he’s back on TV guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! both last night and tonight. And it was great to see he wasted no time in returning to the format. Hell he actually seems even more at ease without the audience. Maybe this is another road he can take to get back into late night?
