Once again the world needs metal, specifically Dethklok. The band is prepping to once again save us from impending doom with the release of Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar, an otherworldly event that will include a new feature film, two albums, and a tour.
Originally announced in 2021, the much-loved [adult swim] rockers just dropped the trailer for the animated movie. That begins with the rescue of bandmate Toki Wartooth. But in the process Dethklok frontman Nathan Explosion finds himself traumatized putting him in a BRUTAL professional and romantic flat-spin. He’s then tasked with fulfilling the prophecy to fulfill the ultimate songwriting challenge which will not only save himself but will save the planet. Explosion must look past his damaged ego to save his band, stop the Metalocalypse, and finally face the ultimate evil.
The movie will be available for purchase on Blu-ray and digital download on August 22, 2023 with an accompanying soundtrack album dropping August 25th,
And if that’s not enough, a highly-anticipated Dethalbum IV featuring new original songs will drop on August 22nd. Pre-sales are live now.
If you want to see the action on the road, Dethklok are hitting the road with Babymetal for the Babyklok tour. Dates and tickets are here.
