It’s holiday season which hopefully brings us all good tidings and joy. Unfortunately there are those out there that don’t have as much to look forward to. Comedian Robert Kelly knows how this feels. As someone who spent time in the Foster system, Kelly is acutely aware about the feeling kids get when it’s Christmas morning and there’s not much for them to celebrate. It’s because of this the comedian and his friends at the You Know What Dude podcast and its network Riotcast, are putting their efforts into a Holiday Gift Drive to help brighten some spirits during the holiday season.
Kelly and Co. are collecting gift donations to the New Alternatives for Children and Alliance House. NAC serves children in the NYC area, who are living in poverty, experienced neglect, abuse, and who have profound medical conditions. Alliance House is a staff-secure treatment facility for adolescent males 13-18, providing counseling, education, community service, life and vocational skills.
They’ve set up a wishlist of gifts to purchase for the children including girls and boys. While gifts for any age will be accepted, Kelly stressed that more often than not teenage boys are forgotten about most. Additionally Riotcast has teamed with Tweaked Audio who will match donations to all earbud purchases for the children.
If you’d like to give (and we hope you do) please visit the donation page to see what gifts are needed.
Then ship the new, unwrapped gifts to Robert Kelly’s PO box by 12/12 so they can be distributed in time for Christmas. You can also send an email to HGD@riotcast.com if you have any more questions or need to contact the organizers.
