Eddie Murphy reflects on his time at SNL in new video series

January 15, 2020      Andrew Buss      Eddie Murphy, Saturday Night Live

Eddie Murphy has always been arguably the biggest star to ever break out of Saturday Night Live. How big did he break out? SNL was the one and only audition he ever went on in his entire career. That cemented everything.

In a new video posted to SNL’s YouTube channel, Eddie Murphy reflects on his audition, the early days of his tenure as he’s trying to make it, how eating dog food on Weekend Update saved him from getting fired, and watches the sketch that broke him out.
