The Big Sick is a Sundance-acclaimed film based on the life of Kumail Nanjiani and producer Emily V. Gordon’s real-life relationship. The duo teamed up with Judd Apatow to produce the film which also stars Ray Romano. The Big Sick tells the story of Nanjiani and Gordon’s relationship, specifically its beginning, when they were living in Chicago. In the midst of dealing with a mess of cultural issues that arose in the early days of their dating, Gordon – who’s portrayed in the film by Zoe Kazan – fell into a coma, with a mysterious “big sick” that tested and bonded the pair.
To celebrate the June 23rd release of the film, Nanjiani and friend set out on the road for The Big Sick Comedy Tour which not only features Nanjiani on stage telling jokes, but also features Ray Romano, Aidy Bryant, and Kurt Braounohler.
