Since its beginnings being founded by comedian Paul Provenza and being performed all over the world, Set List has answered the question of what it would look like if a comic was onstage and telling a set that nobody (including themselves) had never heard before. And now, Rick Overton is turning that concept into a new stand-up special.
In Rick Overton’s Set List, which is being released on June 22nd by Comedy Dynamics, he has to improvise an entire set based on topics and phrases he has never seen before, such as “Free Range Concentration Camps” and “Cirque du Circumcision.”
“I love improv and there’s nothing more fun than jumping into the idea pool, fully-clothed. I’m honored to be doing the first ever Set List comedy special!” said Rick Overton.
“Rick’s special is a refreshing take on the art of improv comedy. We’re excited to be releasing it!” said Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of Comedy Dynamics.
Overton has had a long career in the world of comedy, including working as a stand-up for over forty years now. Some of his film and television credits include Seinfeld, Mad About You, E.R., Married With Children, According to Jim, Childrens Hospital, Last Man Standing, I’m Dying Up Here, Veep, Groundhog Day, Beverly Hills Cop, Young Doctors in Love, Willow, Mrs. Doubtfire, Cloverfield, The Informant!, and countless others.
Rick Overton’s Set List comes out June 22nd Comcast, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock, Spectrum, Apple TV, Dish, Google Play, DirecTV, Vimeo, YouTube and wherever else you get your Comedy Dynamics content.
