6 Great Tina Belcher moments on “Bob’s Burgers”

October 10, 2014      Olivia Cathcart      Bob's Burgers, Features, Lists, Television

Tina BelcherThe Belcher family on Bob’s Burgers is one of the best TV families ever to grace the small screen. It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but since season 3, eldest Tina has stolen the show with no intention of giving it back. The definition of awkward, Tina is played by comedian Dan Mintz who’s voice at first may not seem right for a 13yr old girl. Fortunately, Mintz’ performances are a huge reason Tina has become one of the most beloved characters on television.

In honor of Mintz’s recently released comedy album, The Stranger (available now), we picked out six of the greatest little Tina moments from the last four seasons.

“Hamburger Dinner Theater”
tinababygifTina is best known for her iconic moan. In this season 1 episode, we see a timeline of Tina’s history of stage fright including her moans throughout the ages. Baby Tina is adorable, and watching her uncomfortably sit through situation after situation is probably the best scene from the inaugural season.

“The Unnatural”

Gene Belcher gets to be the center of attention in season 3’s “The Unnatural” as he trains to become a decent baseball player, but Tina steals the show in the B story. Tina discovers the wonder of coffee when Bob buys an espresso machine for the restaurant. Tina’s dreamlike decent into caffeinated wonder, her sped up speech, her short-temper make her a whacked-out wonder.. Tina chugging dirty old motel coffee makes a perfect end to a great episode.

“The Moody Foody”

Tina plays a pretty minor role in this season 3 gem, “The Moody Foody.” As Bob stresses out over the fallout with a poor impression made on an overly critical food critic, the Belcher kids attempt to help their dad out. Re-branding themselves as PR specialists, the kids try to help Bob remain a local celebrity. Again, Tina doesn’t get much screen time in this episode, but it doesn’t matter. She delivers one of the best jokes in Bob’s Burgers history when she sets off a flashback of her run in with Eyebrow Man and his d*ck parrot. I’ve never stopped, re-winded, and re-watched a scene more than to see poor, innocent Tina greet this parrot only to be mocked.

“What?!”

Can you win an *Emmy for saying one word? I don’t know, but the way Mintz delivers this one-word line is too perfect.

*(He should have won. You messed up again, Emmys)
