26 years sure is a long time. A life-time some would say. All in all, it’s come to this. The long awaited reboot is here and it’s ever closer as the cast has appeared to have been chosen alongside a release date for what is one of the most anticipated movies of any past franchise that’s about to be remade in a new light. Depending on how hardcore of a fan you are, you might say that Ghostbusters 3 has already happened. Yes, already happened. It was in the form of a video game in 2009 entitled, well, Ghostbusters: The Video Game. After many script rewrites, disputes over film rights, director changes, and the unfortunate death of Harold Ramis himself, we find ourselves here. Paul Feig, the director of Bridesmaids is at the helm of this Ghostbusters franchise reboot. He announced the cast on twitter today via photo. Melissa McCarthy, who was already in talks for one of the leads, has signed on and Sony is now negotiating with Kristen Wiig as well as Saturday Night Live players Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. Feig followed up the photo tweet stating, “In other news, Ghostbusters will be hitting theaters July 15, 2016. Save the date!” Shooting to start this summer in New York City. In the famous words of Peter Venkman, “It’s Miller Time”.
