The end of an era is upon us. NBC’s great sitcom, Parks and Recreation, is bowing out in 2015 with their seventh and final season. According to Entertainment Weekly, the season will be wrapped up before March.
In an unexpected twist, Leslie Knope and the rest of the Pawnee Parks Department will return on new day and time. NBC’s once powerful Thursday comedy block is no more, and with so Parks and Rec will now air on Tuesdays at 8pm. The seventh season will premiere on January 13th (following Poehler’s Golden Globe hosting gig). NBC will air back-to-back episodes each week leading up the hour-long finale on February 14th.
“I think everyone feels like, ‘We don’t want to overstay our welcome. We want to go out on a high note,’” executive producer Michael Schur told EW in May. “We did this big creative leap at the end of last year and now we get to pursue that in a fun way for half the year and then we’ll wave goodbye and exit stage left.”
So be sure to set your DVRs, because one the greatest series on TV will be gone before you know it.
