It is forgivable that Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords decided to end the show after two seasons and instead go on to a movie career. What isn’t forgivable however is having the first big movie you do be a crappy sci fi comedy three-quel. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Clement has signed on to play the role of the villain in the third Men in Black movie. To make matters worse, the movie will be in 3D. Nothing against the next M.I.B. movie which I am sure will be “watchable”, it is just did Clement have to not make season three of Conchords for it? It just seems like a waste to see the person responsible for one of HBO’s cleverest shows not be used for something that will utilize his talents best.
The third movie will have Clement play a character named Boris, who is supposedly described by the writers as being charming and creepy at the same time. Not that I don’t think Clement can’t handle it, but wasn’t there any other actor they could use?
I hear Chris Kattan could use some work.
