Hasan Minhaj is making the leap from late night to morning TV. Well, sort of…
Minhaj, fresh off his recently cancelled Netflix series The Patriot Act, is joining the cast of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show. The role that he’ll be playing, Eric, is described as being a charismatic rising star joining the news team. The role, Minhaj’s first dramatic one, is said to play a major part of the second season.
The series, which was acclaimed by both audiences and critics when it premiered last year, follows the cut throat and toxic world that is behind the scenes of a morning show. It’s all the stuff you, as the viewer, couldn’t imagine would be going on behind the scenes. And rounding out the all star cast is Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Bel Powley, Karen Pittman and Desean Terry as well as incoming regulars Greta Lee and Ruairi O’Connor.
No word yet on when The Morning Show will be returning, though we imagine it should be sometime in 2021.
