Here’s a teaser of the upcoming “Letterkenny” spinoff series, “Shorsey”

February 14, 2022      Matt      Letterkenny, News, Television

UPDATE: We have a premiere date and first look.

F*ck you Shorsey! Any fan of Letterkenny whose watched all 10 seasons of the Canadian comedy know that phrase. Usually muttered from the hockey players in anger toward the foulmouthed character Shorsey – a wild insult hurler and general antagonist portrayed by series creator and star Jared Keeso.

While we never see Shorsey’s face in the world of Letterkenny his character is unmistakable, often shouting to other hockey players Jonesy and Riley insults about their mothers, or how much tugging they should do on their balls. Shorsey became such a popular character that Keeso and crew recently announced a spinoff of the character. While not a lot of details have been revealed about the new show, we’re glad to see a preview of the show pop up online on the official Letterkenny Youtube page yesterday.

The teaser only clocks in about 40 seconds and there’s no dialogue, but it tells us a lot about the direction of the show. It will obviously be remain true to the Shorsey roots and set as a hockey comedy. Additionally, the gimmick of not seeing the title character’s face will not happen in this series. Additionally, additionally, Jared Keeso will star in the show as Shorsey, which some speculated might be cast by a different actor due to Keeso’s bandwidth writing, and starring in the lead roles in both Shorsey and Letterkenny.

As of the time of this writing, there is no premiere date for the series but the 6 episode season 1 is eying a Spring release on Crave TV in Canada and Hulu here in the states, the same platforms that broadcast Letterkenny.

…In the meantime can I grab your address? So I can put a little note in the mail to remind you how f*ckin’ useless you are!
