Comedian Ian Karmel will soon be recording his debut album in 2015. Karmel tweeted the news saying he will be recording his album on February 7th at Mississippi Studios in Portland, OR via Kill Rock Stars
Karmel originally started his stand-up career in Portland, earning the honor of being named “Portland’s Funniest Person” in 2011 before moving to LA. Karmel also comes from a improv background having tained under The Groundlings and the Upright Citizen’s Brigade. Karmel has performed at Portland’s Bridgetown comedy festival as well as the Moontower comedy festival and Montreal’s Just For Laughs as one of their “New Faces of Comedy.” He was a writer and regular round table guest on Chelsea Lately, has appeared on IFC’s Portlandia, and has performed stand-up on Conan.
