Debuting this week at the Sundance Film Festival is the high school reunion comedy starring Jack Black entitled The D Train. And the next stop for said train is possibly IFC, who is close to signing a deal for U.S. distribution rights. Fox Searchlight was also in the running for the feature film, but IFC appears to be the front runner now. The film stars Jack Black as a former high school reject obsessed with landing the most popular member of the class, James Marsden, for their upcoming reunion. His attempts to land Marsden result in an unexpected one-night stand. The film will land a healthy seven figures. As part of the pact, there will be a wide theatrical release for the film. The film marks Jarrad Paul (Monk, Yes Man) and Andrew Mogel’s (untitled Bruce Almighty Sequel) directing debut. Jack Black, The D Train, I’ll be booking a first class ticket.
