It’s been a long time since Jamie Foxx last starred in a TV show. Since his popular sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show went off the air back in 2001, Foxx successfully made the jump to being a film actor, getting himself an Academy Award in the process. And now, Foxx is returning to his TV roots with a new Netflix sitcom titled Stop Embarrassing Me Dad!
Foxx will star as a cosmetic business owner and bachelor who all of a sudden becomes a full time parent to his teenage daughter. The series is based on Foxx’s own relationship with his daughter, Corinne, who is working on the series as an executive producer.
Rounding out the cast is Kyla-Drew, Porscha Coleman, and Foxx’s former In Living Color co-star David Alan Grier.
Stop Embarrassing Me Dad! debuts on Netflix April 14th.
