Jay Pharoah’s first stand-up special coming to Showtime August 1st

Jay Pharoah, Can I Be Me?Jay Pharoah, the man of a thousand impressions on Saturday Night Live with spot on impressions from the likes of Denzel Washington, Jay Z, and Kanye West. Now he’s hitting another benchmark as a comedian and that’s to release his first ever stand-up special.

Pharoah’s first special, Can I Be Me? will premiere on Saturday August 1st on Showtime at 10pm ET. The hour long special was taped at The Cutting Room in NYC and in addition to stand-up about his family, relationships, and pop culture, Pharoah will also interweave the special with some of his famous impressions.

SNL mastermind Lorne Michaels and his production team Broadway Video have teamed up with Comedy Dynamics to produce the special. Comedy Dynamics will also release an album and DVD of the special a week later on August 7, 2015.
