Jim Gaffigan is officially coming part of the DC cannon.
It was announced that Gaffigan will be voicing the character of Thunderbolt for the upcoming second season of Stargirl. The character Thunderbolt is described by EW, who broke the news, as being “magical, electrical, fun-loving, wish-granting pink imp from the mysterious land of Bahdnesia.“ The character was first hinted as making an appearance after getting a brief glimpse in season one. This was confirmed by creator Geoff Johns.
Check out the official description for the character.
“The wishes he grants often cause more trouble than the wish-asker would ever expect. But despite his somewhat constant supernatural disasters, the Thunderbolt’s heart is always in the right place, even if it is wounded by the friends he has lost throughout his long existence.”
This is not Gaffigan’s first time lending his voice to a project, of course. He previously voiced characters on Bob’s Burgers, Scooby Doo and Who?, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, and Pale Force, which he also created as a vehicle for him and Conan O’Brien.
Stargirl returns to the CW in 2021.
