In the wake of Louis C.K.’s success selling his stand-up special by himself, another heavy hitting comedian is going to sell his next special by himself. Earlier this week, Jim Gaffigan announced that he too will be offering up his next stand-up comedy special, Mr. Universe via his website for the direct-to-fan price of $5 beginning this April.
With the idea picking up steam with many, Gaffigan directly states that Louis was his inspiration. “Inspired by the brilliant Louis CK, I have decided to debut my all-new hour stand-up special on my website.” States the message from Gaffigan.
Gaffigan took things one step further by saying he will donate 20% (a dollar from each sale) to The Bob Woodruff Foundation which helps wounded Veterans and their families.
“Maybe I’m being naïve, but I trust you guys. Besides who would want the karma of stealing money from wounded Veterans? Come on you guys. How dare you even think about it?” Gaffigan added. He also stated that buyers of the special will be assured that the money will go directly to him and his family.
