With COVID-19 forcing the live entertainment industry to really re-think its strategy for the foreseeable future, comedians are getting creative with how they can perform comedy. Many have taken to video programs like Zoom to put on virtual comedy shows delivered right to the safety and comfort of your couch.
While that’s a stopgap solution, its no replacement for the live comedy experience. And Jim Gaffigan is joining the small list of comedians prepping stand-up dates at drive-thru venues in an attempt to recreate the live experience. Gaffigan made the announcement today, “I’m excited to announce I’m starting a Drive Thru Comic Tour. Yes, stand up comedy while you sit comfortably in your car. My first show will be in Oceanport, NJ July 12 at Monmouth Park. More to come.”
The pres-sale for the drive-thru show began today with the password being PALE. They go on sale to the public on Friday at 10am ET.
Gaffigan plans to announce more drive-thru dates shortly and still has some major dates in his upcoming The Pale Tourist tour on schedule and on sale including multi-day runs Radio City Music Hall at the end of July, The Met Philly in October, and Constitution Hall in DC in November.
Only time will tell if more drive-thru dates are added and the scheduled shows happen. Hit Gaffigan’s website for all dates and tickets.
