Comedian Jimmy Failla recently announced via twitter, “Damn! BIG NEWS for your favorite cabbie:Just found out I’m taping 1 hour comedy special @GothamComedy on August 20th.” Failla is a former New York City cab-driver turned stand up comedian who was named Outstanding Male Comedian of the year at the 2014 New York City Nightlife Awards. He appears regularly on the Kennedy Show on the Fox Business Channel and also makes appearances on Strange Inheritance: Unpacked as well as Redeye on Fox News. He is also serving as the spokesman and mascot for the Flipps Mobile App. In addition, he is the head writer for A-List Comedy, a national comedy service that supplies topical humor and audio sketches to over 200 radio stations a day. He has shared the stage with big name comics, including Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Jim Gaffigan, and Dave Chappelle. Failla, along with award winning playwright, Dean Imperial, created the viral YouTube video Snakes in A Cab which caused a media frenzy, and was featured in the NY Post, the Huffington Post, TMZ, TIME and People Magazine. The video got Failla a lot of hate mail from special interest groups, namely the animal rights organization, PETA. The reactions of the passengers are completely unscripted. It was a tool to promote Failla’s first book, titled Follow That Car! A Cabbie’s Guide To Conquering Fears, Achieving Dreams, And Finding A Public Restroom.
