Joan Rivers will be the subject of her own limited series.
It’s been announced that Showtime has picked up The Comeback Girl, which will follow Rivers’ life after her infamous failed late night talk show got taken off the air, her husband’s subsequent suicide a month later, how both events effected her career, and how she managed to turn everything back around.
Tapped to play the iconic comedian in the series is Kathryn Hahn. Hahn will also executive produce, with Greg Berlanti directing and a script from Cosmo Carlson.
The official longline for the series reads “Trailblazer. Adored. Cruel. Diva. Joan Rivers had a life like no other. At age 54, she was a superstar comedienne…and then it all fell apart. The Comeback Girl is the awe-inspiring untold story of how Joan Rivers persevered through near suicide and professional abyss to rebuild herself and her career to become a global icon.”
