During Disney’s epic big reveal of all their projects today, they unveiled plans for an updated Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers film. And they’ve tapped John Mulaney and Andy Samberg to star as the duo. The film, which has been in the works since early 2014, will reportedly combine elements of both animation and live action. Seth Rogen is on board to produce the film, with Akiva Schaffer directing. The reboot will go straight to Disney+ sometime in 2022.
While the original incarnation of the show only ran from 1989 until 1990, it has since developed a cult following. And something about the pairing of Mulaney and Samberg for this just feels right. So we are definitely excited to see the final result!
Chip and Dale are back in a hybrid live-action-animated feature directed by Akiva Schaffer and starring John Mulaney N’ Andy Samberg.
