John Mulaney recalls texting his old drug dealer in his “Saturday Night Live” monologue

February 27, 2022      Andrew Buss      John Mulaney, Saturday Night Live

Last night, John Mulaney returned to Saturday Night Live for his fifth time. And no surprise here, Mulaney killed it in his monologue, talking about what he’s been up to for the last year.

He talked about his well-publicized intervention, how there hasn’t been an interaction before or since he went to rehab, the moment his son was born, and a hilarious bit in which he texts his former drug dealer, who turned out to not be a drug dealer at all.

It was as good a promotion as any for Mulaney’s new tour. It’s great to see him back on that stage again, and talking about what a crazy experience he went through.
