God, we hope this becomes a tradition.

For the third year in a row, John Mulaney will be returning to host Saturday Night Live on February 28th, it was announced today. His musical guest? Naturally, it is David Byrne, Mulaney’s childhood idol who also appeared in Mulaney’s Sack Lunch Bunch on Netflix.

What only makes this announcement even greater, however, is how Mulaney broke news to fans in Toronto that he’d be rescheduling for a third time. He enlisted Lorne Michaels to write a letter that reminded us all just how funny Michaels is. Blame it all on the SNL draft. “He is simply doing his duty,” Lorne states. “And there is nothing more Canadian than that.”

Sorry, Canada! We can’t wait to see Mulaney back on the show!
