This year marks the 20th anniversary of the tragic events that took place on 9/11. In the immediate aftermath, there was always that question of “Will things ever be the same again?” And now, some of the biggest names in comedy are gathering to honor the city and how it has built itself back from the tragedy.
Jon Stewart and Pete Davidson are leading the charge. They have teamed up to present a benefit, NYC Still Rising After 20 Years: A Comedy Celebration. The one night only event will be held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, September 12th. Some of the big name comics scheduled are Amy Schumer, Bill Burr, Colin Jost, Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, Dave Chappelle, Jay Pharoah, Jimmy Fallon, John Mulaney, Jon Stewart, Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Ronny Chieng, Tom Segura and Wanda Sykes.
“We wanted to put on a fun celebration to honor this great city’s resilience,” Stewart and Davidson said in a joint statement. “It’s nice to be able to do this with friends and people we love.”
Tickets will go on sale Friday for the general public and can be grabbed here.
