Jon Stewart’s new film “Irresistible” heads straight to VOD

Jon Stewart has a new political comedy film, and it’s coming straight to your homes.
Like many other films right now, Irresistible, written and directed by Stewart, is forgoing the previously announced theater route. Initially set to be released by Focus Features in cinemas on May 29th, the film will now be available on demand on June 26th.
Irresistible, which stars Steve Carell and Rose Byrne, it follows a Democrat political consultant (Carell) who is assisting a retired Marine colonel (Chris Cooper) to run for mayor in a right-wing Wisconsin town. However, the Republican National Committee interferes by sending in his nemesis (Byrne) to lead the opponent. Rounding out the cast is Mackenzie Davis, Topher Grace and Natasha Lyonne.
