It seems like hosting Saturday Night Live has become a dream for comedy nerds everywhere. Usually you can feel that excitement bouncing off of the hosts. And I think it’s fair to say that nobody seemed more hype for the experience than Keegan-Michael Key. In his monologue, he managed to hit every SNL monologue cliche. These cliches included an opening song, a quick change, taking a question from the audience, and having cast members join him onstage. And for the record, he did not win an Oscar for Get Out. And he is also not Kenan Thompson.
